Bani Brusadin is a curator, educator, and researcher. His interests cover contemporary art and the politics of technology, digital aesthetics, user cultures, and the utopias and dystopias of a networked society.
In 2022 he curated Violence and Cuteness, the 6th DONE conference for the Foto Colectania Foundation in Barcelona. Previous projects include The Influencers (2004 - 2019), a festival about unconventional art, guerrilla communication, and radical entertainment that he founded and curated with artists Eva & Franco Mattes, co-produced by the CCCB Center of Contemporary Culture of Barcelona - Freeport (2018 - 2021), an independent study program about creative / critical strategies for a world of humans, non-humans and machines; Matadero Madrid's Tentacular festival (2018 - 2019), of which he was one of the founding curators; Cultures d’Avenir (2021), a European program for art students led by CCCB Center of Contemporary Culture of Barcelona, Haus der Kulturen der Welt Berlin and Centre Pompidou Paris. He is the author of The Fog of Systems. Art as Reorientation and Resistance in a Planetary-Scale System Disposed Towards Invisibility, Aksioma Institute for Contemporary Art Ljubljana (2021). He holds a PhD in Advanced Artistic Practices from the University of Barcelona and is currently a lecturer on digital cultures, technology, and society at the University of Barcelona and Elisava Barcelona Design and Engineering School, as well as at Esdi's master degree in Curatorship and Digital Art, and Elisava's master degree in Data Design.
