The Dublin-based visual art/noise, industrial, femme waste removal service of artists Cliona Ní Laoi and Michelle Doyle investigates consumption, waste, and femininity through audio installations and live performances.
Donning pink hazmat suits, they have come to clean up all the waste, spray disinfectant, and remove human stains. They are the microbeads that don't biodegrade. They remain in every crevice of your body. They are the forever chemicals, the heavy metals. They are contaminating all of your organs. They look good, feel good, and they smell sensational.
Dreamgirls have performed at Dublin Digital Radio’s Alternating Currents (2021), the Dublin Waste to Energy Incinerator (2021), and Electric Picnic (2022). As solo practitioners, they have exhibited in Sirius Art Centre, the Irish Museum of Modern Art, the Goethe Institut of Dublin, and transmediale.
